Stacey & Lilliana

Stacey (Mom)

After moving to Fayetteville, NC to join the army, Stacey now works there as a clinical psychologist. She is no push-over and is prepared to read these moms and their crafty ways. After being sought out by Abby herself to join the mini team, Stacey and her daughter Lilliana are ready to prove that they are exactly what this mini team was missing. But, Stacey knows all too well that mini dancers have gone and left the team in a heartbeat, so she has to figure out a way for her star dancer to fit in seamlessly with an already established winning team. The last thing she wants is to be another mini one-hit-wonder; she is in this for the long haul and won’t let any moms, mini or elite, bully her out of this studio.

Lilliana (Junior Elite)

While Lilliana may be the newest and “mini-est” member of the mini team, she was hand-picked by Abby herself and is ready to be Abby’s star. She intends to use her fancy-footwork to get her to the top of Abby’s pyramid.

What’s your favorite style of dance to perform?

My favorite style of dance to perform is ballet. I like it because it makes me look more mature and shows off that I have good technique. I also like ballet because you can perform famous dances that we’re done in the past by famous ballerinas.

What’s your favorite style of dance to watch?

“I have two favorite types of dance that I like to watch. Contemporary and jazz. With jazz you can tell if someone is having fun on stage and it makes you want to move and makes you feel really happy.  In contemporary I love to watch the emotion. You absolutely have to have good facial expressions for it to be fun to watch.  It can make you feel sad or happy just depending on the dance.  I also like to watch contemporary because I like to check out other dancers technique.

What’s your favorite thing about dance?

My favorite thing about dance is everything! I love that you can show your feelings through dance.  I love it because you can feel free. Like when you improv there is no right or wrong.  Also when you perform all of your hard work pays off and it makes you feel happy.

What other hobbies do you participate in?

Besides dance I love to play basketball with my dad in the driveway until I hit a car with the ball. (LOL) I also like to swim, roller skate, and be silly with my friends.  I love to have sleepovers with my friends!

Who is your dancer role model?

There are two girls at my home studio that I really look up to. My friend Jordan left last year to dance in New York City at the Joffrey Ballet school and Alvin Ailey. Another girl at my studio has the most beautiful Pointe I’ve ever seen and I’m working to get my feet like hers. I also really look up to Kalani because because of her amazing technique and beautiful feet. She has really high jumps and great over splits.  I also look up to these girls because they are all really humble.

Do you have a signature move?

My signature move is what I would call a floor needle. It is even my profile picture on Instagram.
